Description | The Institute for Microbiology and Genetics (Research Group Heimel) is looking for a
Ph.D. candidate (all genders welcome) This position should be filled as soon as possible and is offered for a period of three years according to German public service pay grade 13 TV-L (65 %). Your Duties Research in our lab aims at understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate communication between the fungal biotrophic pathogen Ustilago maydis and its host plant maize. This specific project will use genetic, cell biological and biochemical approaches to identify and characterize components within the fungal protein homeostasis network of the unfolded protein response (UPR) with impact on fungal virulence and fungal plant communication.
