The position is offered within the framework of an interdisciplinary research project (SeBAS- Sensing Biodiversity Across Scales) within the Biodiversity Exploratories funded by the German Science Foundation, DFG. The SeBAS project aims at improving the understanding of land-use effects on the biodiversity-ecosystem service relationship by integrating site-based ecological research with Remote Sensing. It will specifically explore linkages between taxonomic and functional plant diversity and the ecosystem service of forage provision, focusing on observation units relevant for decision-making, i.e. meadows or pastures, farms, and landscapes.

• Use of advanced concepts and research methods in functional plant ecology
• Research stays and field data collection in Germany’s Biodiversity Exploratories
• Explore land-use effects on biodiversity and ecosystem services at different spatial scales
• Work in an interdisciplinary team with remote sensing researchers

We offer:
• A stimulating work environment, encouraging you to explore new scientific directions
• A vibrant scientific exchange with national and international researchers
• Participation in an innovative, interdisciplinary research environment
